Today we’re very excited to take a look at the new HTC One M9, the new flagship phone from this popular manufacturer.
Let’s take a look at what HTC have included in this year’s flagship device.
What’s In The Box?
In addition to the handset, there is also a 1.5 Amp USB Wall Charger, USB to Micro USB charge/sync cable, a pair of HTC headphones with microphone and flat cables and a SIM/MicroSD card removal tool.
Flagship phones from major manufacturers are always my favourite types of devices to review, because of the attention to detail and quality of the finishes that are the hallmarks of these devices, and the HTC One M9 does not disappoint in this regard.
Featuring a jewellery grade brushed finish that is scratch resistant on the all metal body, the One M9 goes all out in the looks department and is sure to impress.
The One M9 includes Android Lollipop with HTC’s Sense interface layer that is designed to further improve the intelligence of this popular mobile operating system. Features like HTC Sense Home allow the device to show a specific set of applications, based on your location, including Home, Work, and Out.
The BlinkFeed component of HTC’s customisations has also been improved. One of the interesting new features is that it will offer you suggestions of places that you might like to go eat around mealtimes.
The HTC One M9 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with 8 cores and a 64-bit architecture, perfect for the latest Android Lollipop which supports 64-bit processors. It’s paired with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB of RAM to make the phone into a truly powerful phone.
HTC One M9 includes a truly impressive 20 Megapixel camera on the rear of the device, with a Sapphire Crystal lens to protect it from scratches. The front facing camera is 4 megapixels and features HTC’s UltraPixel technology to take better photos in low light conditions.
The screen on the HTC One M9 is absolutely stunning. The 5″ screen features a resolution of 1080×1920 (441 pixels per inch) and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 technology to make it as strong and break-resistant as possible.
With all of the impressive hardware in this year’s HTC flagship, we just had to put it through its paces on the AnTuTu 64-bit Benchmark v5.7 and see what it could do. The results absolutely blew us away – it scores 55557, outperforming its predecessor which scored 43287, as well as other popular flagships such as the OnePlus One, the Huawei Mate 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
HTC have worked hard this year to create an incredible flagship phone that not only looks impressive, but performs impressively as well by pairing the latest hardware improvements with some impressive customisations to the Android Lollipop OS.
Features like HTC Sense Home and HTC BlinkFeed truly help make it into a much more personal smartphone that fits into your life and impresses you with what technology can do.
The HTC One M9 is a solid contender for the best flagship phone of 2015.
